Friday!

Woohoo! Its Friday and my kids will be out of school for the next week. Spring break will give them a taste of summer vacation, so I am sure everyone will be very hyper.....oh goodie.

I have done 17 loads of laundry so far this week. Thank god its the year 2012 and not 1812. I couldn't imagine how women did everyday life back then. Whenever I think about my laundry mountain I remind myself how nice technology is and how much rougher it could be. Nothing like beating your clothes on a rock or using a scrub board to keep ya humble. I love to look at pictures of people from 100 years ago. How strong they were. How those who came before them survived. It's truly amazing, and I am so thankful for them. When I think of my mom, my grandma, their grandmas and so on....I am in awe.

Broken arm!

Well today I got a call from my kids school. Usually when they call I wince as I wait to hear all about Caden's latest adventures, but today it was about Haylee. She got hurt during the principals party while jumping in the bounce house. When I got there they had her wrist wrapped and on ice. I took her to the doctors for an x-ray just to be on the safe side, and sure enough, it is broken!

She had never broken anything, so she was very shook up about it. But I managed to get her to smile through the pain.

She couldn't believe I would take pictures of her, lol.

We go back in a few days after the swelling has gone down to get the cast on.

Not a very fun day for Hay!

1st time

Yesterday was Troy's first time sitting in the seat part of the grocery cart. Sam's club has 2 seats in their carts, so both Trav and Troy got to sit side by side. Troy loved it!

He was grabbing everything in sight and constantly moving his head all directions. It was so fun to watch him see the world get so much bigger.

Shelby has been talking about pineapples a lot lately, so Chason has been asking for one. Guess what Sam's club had?

He was so excited! Of course I had to look up how to cut one, lol.

I have always bought canned pineapple, so it was a first for both of us. All the kids ate it and Shelby made sure to save some for Scott. It was a nice treat!

That time of the month?

So Shelby is gonna kill me for posting this but I just had to!

Today we're in the kitchen and Haylee is asking me questions from the living room. She has been asking questions about growing up lately, and I always tell my kids the answers to what they are curious about. Even if it's uncomfortable. So anyway, she says......Mom? Ummm how old were you......um when....um how old were you when.....(staring at Shelby and quickly switching gears) had your first baby?

I was 19 hun.

She's still staring at Shelby who is fixing herself a drink not really paying attention to what Haylee is saying. That's when Haylee realizes Shelby's not listening, so she just blurts out......

How old were you when you started your first period?

I was 12. Usually you start when your mother did.

So now her stare at Shelby turns into a very comical look as she's trying her best not to bust out laughing. That's when I look up from washing dishes and see her looking at her 12 year old sister.

And that's when Shelby gets it.

MOM!!! OMG Don't tell her that!

So now we are all 3 laughing and it's something I will always (sorry Shelby) remember.....

Disney on Ice

We went to Disney on Ice last Sunday. We haven't gone for a really long time so the kids were all really really excited. Shelby the baby and myself had been in Nevada visiting my sister and her kids for the weekend, and got up really early to drive to Salt Lake City in order to make it in time for the show. The kids were super excited to see us. I have never done anything like that before, so being away from them was rough.

The show started at 1:30, and at 1:35 we were in our seats.

We all had tons of fun. On the way home we stopped and had dinner so it was a special day for our family.

I hope this post works and y'all can see it.

Exchange day

Pay day is exchange day. It just goes from my hand to others hands. I get to spend the day in the car driving from one bill to another bill. Luckily my dad tagged along so I wouldn't have to drag 3 little kids in with me and attempt to keep them at my side while I balanced the baby on my hip and pay up to everyone. I have done this many times before so it was really nice to have some help.

Tomorrow is grocery shopping day.

Awesome.

Car Wash

I pull into the car wash and get in line. There's only 1 car ahead of me so I know the wait won't be long. The second the car stops I hear whining coming from the back seat. I turn around and look at Travis. This is what I see.

He's been here before. He remembers. Oye.

So his brother helps out.

Now it's my turn to enter.

Its not that bad right?

Well..............

Ok maybe to a 2 year old it could resemble death engulfing you....

Chason thought it was funny.....

But then he felt bad for Travis and decided to help out.

I guess next time I will go when he's sleeping...I hope he don't have nightmares........oye

Doctor Appointments

Chason and Troy finally had their doctor appointment. After re scheduling twice because they were sick, I was glad to get it over with. I brought the 4 youngest with me, and Scott had just got back from New Mexico so he came along as well. It did him a lot of good to see what its like for me whenever I go out anywhere with the little boys. They were running all around the room, pulling books away from each other, 1 screaming they had to go potty.....pretty much a normal day for me. Lets just say I got a lot of I love yous and thank yous from Scott that day, lol.

Troy went first and was weighed and measured from head to toe. He is in the 90% of his height, and 50% of his weight but its the 18 month check up that will give us a clue of what he'll be like as a adult. They tag teamed him on his shots, and my poor little baby didn't like it one bit.

Chason is all boy and kept making Dr. Fennel crack up with every few minutes. He is very healthy and all caught up on his immunizations now. He is such a strong kid. They gave him his shots and he looked down and said ow.

That's it. No tears at all.

Not really a fun day, but glad to be done with it.
