Happy Halloween!

The kids all had so much fun! Cavin was really fun to watch this year. He couldn't wait to go to each house. He was running ahead, and just having a ball. Chason was dragging his feet and would of been done with 3-4 houses. Caden was constantly running off and I had to spend the whole time making him stay with me. Travis and Troy rode in the double stroller and just chilled out and took in the sights. Colby went to a party and the girls and Caden went off to get some serious trick or treating time in while I put the lil kids straight in the tub and started scrubbing. That make up that went on so easy was hell trying to get off. It was a fun night!!

And since you can't see Travys sweet little face in this pic.....

Its kinda blurry, but it's hard to keep him still!!

Colby and Shelby

Here's my 2 oldest kids.

They are turning into adults right before my eyes. Colby is such a giving person. He can't stand to see anyone upset, and always steps in to help someone, or to fight for the little guy. Shelby is the kind of person who hurts right to the core. She is never afraid to speak her mind and sees people for who they are. I love to just hang out with them. Everything makes them laugh, and it makes everyone around them laugh too.

 They are contagious!

on and on I go

Cavin and Chasons Halloween part at school was a big hit with them. They decorated treat bags and went trick or treating to the childcare classes.

They were so excited to see their teacher, Miss Mandy, all dressed up too.

Cavin wasn't happy with the sun in his eyes. He took his costume off as soon possible. But not Chason. His doctor appointment was right after preschool, and he wore his costume there too.

The nurses thought he was so cute. I'd have to agree. They were all very interested in the movie playing, Toy Story, and was not happy to hear it was our turn when we were called. As we walked back to the rooms, we passed a woman coming out and she was counting her kids and mumbling....wait.....who am I missing? I laughed and said you sound like me. She said while laughing, well I have 7 of em' to keep track of. I told her of no wonder we sound alike, I have 8. Bonding in the hallway......oh lord watch out.
So we get back in the room and I am a little nervous for Chason as they pull out this wire cutter looking tool. He sat on my lap and they cut the staples one by one and pulled them out. He didn't shed 1 single tear. He told them, ouch, that hurts me. That kid is tougher then nails I tell ya.....

After his appt. we hurried home so I could get everyone ready for Colby's football game. I made sure everyone used the bathroom, grabbed the diaper bag, and went straight to the kids school. I tried to leave quickly, but I had to listen to the drama that had occurred the day before. Seems some guy decided to block the intersection the in parking lot, and refused to move his car. He screamed at one of the nicest teachers in the whole school, Mrs. Nickle, and the cops showed up. School was over, so this happened in front of all the children coming out. This is crazy people!

So we finally arrive at his game, and I end up having to park the furthest away possible. I load the babies up in the double stroller, grab my bags, make sure everyones got hoodies on, and start walking. When I finally make it to the field its now 3rd quarter. As soon as I spot Colby I see one of the girls holding her nose and looking disgusted. I immediately knew that was her discreet way of letting me know one of the boys has had an "accident".

Awesome.

I haven't needed the emergency bag in a long time because both of the boys have been potty trained for quite a while, so of course its back in the car. I turn my train around and we head back to the car. By the time I get back from my joyous time there is now 3 minutes left in the game. Score was 14 to 0, with us losing. When there was about 30 seconds left on the clock, we did get a touchdown, but right after so did the opposing team, lol. They got their extra 2 points as well and the game ended 22-6. He gave his all the whole season, and never backed down.

The season is now over and wrestling is on the horizon. Yay. I think........

I picked up my little cousin who's been asking to spend the night then took Caden to wrestling practice. We was 30 minutes late! I hate being late! Its been a hectic day, so at least he made it. I did get to chat with my sister Kim, and that was nice being able to catch up with her. By the time I got home there was no way I was gonna cook, so it was sandwiches for everyone. And now, baby Troy is letting me know its past his bedtime routine, so off I go............

Tomorrow is the boys Halloween party at preschool. Chason wanted to be a crocodile and Cavin wanted to be a motorcycle. They both settled on skeletons just like Caden. Thank Goodness. Its also Colby's playoff game in football. I am gonna freeze my tuukis off. I will post pics tomorrow.
I am going to bed....busy busy busy tomorrow!!

Wrestling Day 1

Today was Caden's first day of wrestling. If I ever need to laugh, I am going to remember today. For some reason Caden thinks a somersault is stopping midway and doing a headstand before he just falls flat. He had tons of fun, and that's what I wanted. A woman next to me asked me about my family, and told me I looked way to young to have a 14 year old. God bless her. She asked how old the baby was, and if I had any other kids. So I said 4 months and 8 total. The look on peoples faces is priceless when they hear that number 8. She asked advice on going from 3 kids to 4, and if its hard or not. I told her if you can handle handle 3, you can handle 10. Its not like you get dropped with all of them at once, you adjust with each baby that comes along. She said I gave her hope, lol. She was really nice though, and I enjoyed chatting with her.

The boys are super excited because Grandpa Dennis came over this morning and put together their new bunk bed. I had to keep chasing them out of the room so he could keep track of all the parts.

Grandpa's are awesome!

My mom made some new hats, so my kids reaped the benefit's.

how stinkin cute is that?

My mother the hat maker. Gotta love her.......

uhhhh busy much?

I haven't been home for most of the day. Shocker I know, but you ever had 1 errand that turned into 10? Well, maybe not 10 for most people, but 10 for me in 1 day is not that unusual. Forgotten cleats and hoodies (trip to two different schools), stop at the ATM, go to the grocery store, pick up the grandmas, buy a new bunk bed-chase your kids around the entire store, drop off the grandmas, go back to the 1st school you went to because your kids lunch account is now empty, grab some lunch, vacuum out the car because you let your kids eat in it while on the go, oh yeah....I also had to get some gas. By the time I got home I had 24 minutes before I had to leave to pick up the kids from school. So I put the dogs out back and got right back in the car. I wasn't about to get all the boys out of their car seats just to strap em' all back in 10 minutes later. So I get home and change the babies, fold a load of laundry, then make dinner. My boys lay back and chill on the couch watching The Backyardigans.

Ah to be young and carefree.......LOL

I was literally on my hands and knees scrubbing my kitchen floor when my oldest son walks in and asks me why I haven't washed his jacket yet. The one he wore to school today. He's been back from football practice for about 30 minutes. Ya know, since I haven't been doing anything, I should of miraculously washed it already. I start hearing this song in my head. Cinderelly Cinderelly......do the dishes do the moppin, they always keep her hoppin......oye

Maybe I'll just join Travis and have a cookie.

Nah, I guess I'll grab a rag and wipe off the walls he just decorated.

Sunday Smunday

Colby spent Friday night at his cousin Carsons house, so Saturday Carson slept over here. Carson is such a funny kid. He looooves hanging out with Colby and his little cousins. And since we seems to have lots of little kids just hanging around here, it seems to make him happy, lol. They decided to do a little prank calling last night as well. (Sorry Grandma, and please ignore the peanut butter instructions) Here they are x-boxin
Oh and lookie lookie! Colby got an actual haircut! I guess last week when I held him down and tortured him he didn't want such long hair anymore.

So now, he looks like this

Shelby is busy making dough in the kitchen for a school project. She keeps telling me I am smart, lol. I am sad to say I do not own a rolling pin, so she asked how can she flatten out the dough? I told her to use a cup. She says I am so smart, lol. She said but it sticks to the glass. I told her to put a lil flour on the glass. 10 seconds later she tells me, see....you are so smart! LOL I love that.........

She did great!

One of those days........

Today was a busy day. I have been in and out all day long. I woke up at 7:00 a.m, which was nice because usually Troy wakes me around 4, and by 8 o'clock I was out the door. I had to go get some groceries and I wanted to be quick, so morning before most of the tribe had woken up was the perfect time. When I got home I got all the little kids dressed and then checked the movie times for the girls. Footloose was playing at 11:00, so I hurried and got the kitchen cleaned up from my lil tornado's that ate breakfast, packed Troy up and ran out the door. Colby stayed home and watched the little boys. Footloose was great, and Willard stole the show with his funny comments. It mostly followed the original Footloose movie, but now its set in our current time. After the movie was over we grabbed some lunch and headed over to Carters so I could use my coupon before it expired. I got the 2 youngest boys some cute clothes for fall, then headed home. I wasn't home 20 minutes before Chason got hurt. As I stood in the kitchen doing the lunch dishes, I hear Cavin yell at Chase and a big thud followed by a scream. Turns out Cavin was fighting with him over the gameboys, so Cavin decided to give the gameboy to Chase. When I say give, I mean chuck. From the top of the stairs. Directly at poor Chasons head. So I turn him around to check his head expecting a bump when I find blood trickling down his neck. I move his hair and see the skin has split, and I can see the meaty part under the skin. I know right away he'll need stitches so I get his shoes on and head to the doctors. This whole time, Chason cried for maybe 60 seconds, if that. I get him to the doctors, where they tell me they will use staples, not stitches or even glue, on his head. My stomach turned at the thought of that, but being a mom, I could never let Chason see how freaked out I was. They put some goop on his head to numb the area, and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Chason just sat and happily played the gameboy that was used as a missile for his head. Turns out he was behind on his immunizations, so they wanted to give him those while he was there. My poor lil buddy! The doctor asked me to sit down because I was hyperventilating, and she said I was super pale. I was glad he was laying on his belly playing the gameboy and not looking at my face. As they put 3 staples in his scalp, he never cried, he just kept saying ow ow ow. The whole thing lasted about 10-15 seconds, and he never cried once! When they tag teamed him with the shots on his legs he said, Hey! Ow! That's it. He's such a tough kid! Here's a pic of his staples, if you look close you can see them.
Here he is yesterday when he got his haircut. Just as happy as could be.
On the way home from the doctors, I stopped and got him an ice cream cone. As soon as he got home he showed it off to Cavin real good, lol. I had a talk with Cavin about talking to me when he's angry instead of throwing things, but I am sure this won't be the last time.
Funny how they can look so sweet and innocent huh?

Computer is working!!!

I am so happy to get my computer back. I really enjoy blogging, and I have missed being able to do it regularly. So, here's a run down of whats going on with the family.

Scott is away working and is learning new ways of doing the same job he's been doing for years and years. He is loving his new job, and we can't wait for him to come back home. Colby's football team made the playoffs. He hurt his foot so Scott's new job having insurance for us is a blessing. Shelby is doing great in school, and is thinking of trying out for cheerleader in Jr. High. Haylee had an awesome week last week. She finally talked to some girls and made some new friends. Caden...well....he's Caden and his teacher has called me 3 times this past week. I don't really want to get into it, but we'll just say his bathroom habits upset some students along with his teacher. Oye. That kid has given me a run for my money. It's a good thing I love him so much. Cavin likes his preschool, and still struggles with his "S" es. He also cannot pronounce his Cs. So, it looks like he will be my 3rd kid in speech therapy at school next year. Chason loves preschool, and all the teachers love him. He's very outgoing and giggles at everything. Travis said Hay-yee yesterday for the first time. It made Haylee just beam. And my little Troy-boy has figured out he has hands. He stares at them and is always trying to grab a hold of things. He flips over on his belly and get's so mad because he can't figure out how to flip back. Poor little turtle.....

update

I still have no working computer at home, so here I am, sneaking a few minutes on my moms computer at her house. Scott is with me and we managed to get away with only the baby. Feels kinda weird, lol. Its like when I go grocery shopping and the boys (Cavin and Chason) are in pre-school. I am constantly freaking out because I can't find them only to realize they didn't come with me. We had a great day today. We took the kids out and everyone had a awesome day. First, we invaded the Pizza Hut. Those 2 workers and the small family that was there looked completely shell-shocked after about 5 minutes with us.
Here's a pic I took from there.

After that, we headed out to surprise the kids with a movie. We had some time to kill, so we drove around Ogden and showed the kids some really old homes that were considered mansions back in their day. Then we saw the cemetery, and couldn't resist going in. We found lots of headstones from the 1800s, and one that really stood out. It was Lorin Farr, and he was buried with his 6 wives, 2 of whom died in the same year. Polygamy was the norm here in Utah back then. Scott always says he'd die if there were more then 1 of me. We left there and went straight to the movies. It was a discount movie theater, so for only 27 bucks, all 10 of us went to see Cars 2. The little boys loved it, the baby slept the whole time, and the bigger kids didn't even mind too much that I was throwing popcorn at them. (they blamed Scott hee hee)
Out in the lobby they had some riding machines for kids, but of course Shelby wanted a turn right along with the lil boys.

She cracks me up.

On the way out Travis hitched a ride on Scott's neck

Everyone had so much fun. It was one of those rare days when we could all go out together and just enjoy being a family.

Caden, Caden, Caden

Well, its been a crazy past few days, but what else is new, right? I have been getting calls from Cadens teacher at school, and have been trying to get him to behave at school, but it's Caden so it doesn't usually stick. The last call I got was his teacher calling from his classroom to let me know he decided to stay out 25 minutes extra after recess had ended. They paged him several times over the school intercom, and his sisters were cracking up in their classrooms to hear their brothers name over and over. They found him and 1 other boy digging for worms back by a bunch of trees. They just didn't notice they were the only ones out there. So, I have been visiting his classroom and sitting next to him to make sure he's doing as he's told.

Today is parent teacher conferences, and I am sure I'll get an ear full.

Home

Here I am, sneaking a moment away from my house to use my mom's computer. I listen to her talking to my grandma Tryon, the subject yarn of course, and realize how comfortable I am here. My parents have only lived in this house for a short while, yet its amazing how this house has become 100 % them in such a short period of time. It just proves that no matter where you live, home is where your family is.
We moved around a lot when I was a kid. Its funny how I don't think of all the different homes we lived in when I think of  "home". I think of the smells. Of feelings. Tacos cooking in the kitchen. My mom playing old fashioned Christmas music while we decorate the Christmas tree. Feeling so safe and warm. Knowing I was loved.
And that what I hope my kids feel every day.

Broken Computer!!!

My computer broke this past weekend. Woe is me! I am using my mom's real quick, but hopefully the puter guys can get it fixed soon!

Heres a pic of me and 2 of my sisters. I don't see Kim F. as much I would like, but she is always there when you need her, and that's what matters most. Next time I see her I will make her take a quick pic with me.
